MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Monitoring of Council’s accounts & financial management of the Councils. (Acts as an internal auditor which plans and performs effective operational, compliance, and financial audits.)
• Provides consultancy services:
  Advising & supervising the implementation of financial & management accounting systems for the Councils
• Provides on-the-spot training to Council’s accounting staff.
• Processing and Coordinating other administrative duties on any financial matters on behalf of the councils
• Calculation and release of Equalization Grants based on Command Paper 3, 1966
• Coordinating and compiling of Council’s annual budget for submission to SFS.
• Processing the applications of Supplementary provisions/virements by Councils
• Preparation of MMKN paper for tabling of annual audited accounts of local authorities to DUN.
